Senior Website Operations Manager
Our client is a leading outsourced e-commerce management services company, based in Johannesburg South Africa. They provide services to a niche group of customers, delivering cutting edge e-commerce solutions to a global user base.
The Marketing division is tasked with delivering innovative, varied, creative and dynamic marketing solutions. These initiatives span web based, telephonic, email communications, real world interactions, direct mail campaigns and other initiatives.
Responsibilities include :
Management of the web master function – providing web master & website management related services
Ensuring that all websites and products are developed according to SEO best practice, and that all web related efforts & projects are geared around improving search rankings. Drive & implement the business’ search engine optimization strategy with the SEO team.
Efficient and effective brand management of various brands. This includes traditional brand management, as well as project management and thought leadership of all brand related projects across the business.
Ensuring reliable and effective web analytics & reporting to the base of marketing department users
The outputs and day-to-day management of the creative team
The outputs and day-to-day management of the copy / content team [spanning 8 languages].
Qualifications / experience:
Must have minimum 10 yrs eCommerce Branding, Webmaster, Product or Promotions Management experience.
Must have experience running multiple projects simultaneously, especially with the releasing of large web based projects with fresh content on a weekly basis (40 – 50 new pages per week)
B.Com or similar Marketing Management Degree essential
A proven track record of team management in a dynamic environment with a diverse portfolio of responsibility. This position has approximately 40 direct reports, including web masters, SEO specialists, copywriters, brand manager etc
Proven analytical ability and involvement in strategic planning & business management

Solid Business and Product Development skills required
Exceptional inter-personal skills. Strong negotiation and networking skills; required to network and negotiate with product, channel, creative and other internal stakeholders to ensure integrated brand solutions / offerings.
Conflict management ability; plays an integration role across various functional areas that may have conflicting interests
Strong analytical skills
Exceptional organizational, communication, presentation and facilitation skills for effective campaign & project co-ordination
Must have a sound understanding of online branding and brand dynamics to actively manage the quality of all brand and communication initiatives in order to sustain a positive and consistent brand image, aligned to business capabilities
Demonstrated skill at ensuring consumer insights are developed into effective creative material
